OBAMA & FAITH

For those of you who perceive our current president as hostile to Christianity, please take a look at this article. I am not taking a position here, just found this article from Christianity Today interesting.

As much as I try to be open minded about the pres when it comes to his beliefs, there is always this delta between what he says he believes and what the Rev Wright preached to him and his wife for over 20 years. I have listened to enough of Wright’s transcripts to pick up on tones of racism and devisivness mixed in with God’s word. I mean to follow someone for 20+ years and take public positions contrary to what you learned is confusing at least.

These are some pretty bold statements he’s making, though. Is it possible that the prayers of his Christian brothers and sisters are impacting him? Would that be so far outside the realm of possibility? We say we believe in that sort of thing, right? I’m just sayin’

God can accomplish all things – no argument there. But, his behavior is not out of the realm of a campaign strategy. Recent polls show him weak with evangelical women and this strong position would help plug the leak in that vote boat. Also, it is documented that he has not spoke the truth on several subjects on several occasions during his presidency. If God is working in his life I would think this type of behavior would change.

ps – I do hope I am totally wrong with my observations.
